Is It Right To Break Up Because...

...your mate is a heavy smoker?

I have broken off the last two relationships I've had because my partners were heavy chain smokers. Other then that they were wonderful partners and I loved them dearly. Did I do the right thing? Should I have stayed in the relationships and tried to get them to quit?

The only thing I'd say you did wrong was get involved with someone (particularly the second woman) who smoked, when you were fully aware that it was a dealbreaker for you.

It hardly seems fair to ditch them over something you knew full well they did right in the beginning, yanno?

it is hard to say if you did right or wrong.
but if you don't like smokers why you start such relationships? but if you start such relationship - smokeking is not the reason to break up...
